Hooked on Fishing − Children’s Program at Hunter Farm Preserve
Saturday, April 21 at 9am to 11:30am, Slate Hill, NY
Grab a rod and reel for this family-friendly program at Orange County Land Trust’s Hunter Farm Preserve, where young anglers can practice catch and release fishing on the ponds while also learning how to be good stewards of our lands and waters.
As fish are reeled in, Land Trust staff members and volunteers will help identify and document the species of fish as part of an informal survey. The results of the day’s catch will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
Recommended for children aged 5 years and older. Fishing equipment will not be provided. Please bring your own gear, as well as drinking water to stay hydrated. Sunscreen is strongly recommended. A valid NYS Fishing License is required for anyone fishing. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
A donation of $5 per person/$10 family is suggested to support Orange County Land Trust’s efforts to conserve the county’s wildlife habitats, watershed lands, and working farms. Group size is limited. Pre-registration by e-mail or phone is required- email Jeremy@OCLT.org or call 845-534-3690 x18.
