Orange County Land Trust to Hold Family Nature Walk: Signs of Winter Storage Middletown, NY (OCLT) The Orange County Land Trust will hold a guided, family friendly nature walk on Saturday, November 1, 2008 beginning at 2 pm at its Moonbeams Preserve on Prosperous Valley Road in the Town of Wallkill. "Signs of Winter Storage" will explore the various ways plants and animals on this 150-acre preserve prepare during the fall for the coming winter months. Led by Dr. Jennifer Merriam, a professor at SUNY Orange, the short nature walk will focus on the flora and fauna around Peg's Pond, the Shawangunk Kill and the fields and wetlands around Bear Swamp. It is ideal for both adults and children. The program is free of charge and open to all. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. The Orange County Land Trust is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve the fields, forests, wetlands, ridgelines, and river corridors, as well as working farmland, in communities throughout Orange County.
